Lovett College

Representing Florida, south side, Lovett college is where he resides.
However, with overwhelming Rice pride, he spreads his love far and wide.
If you ain’t clued in yet, what’s been implied, then to his awesomeness, I’ll testify. Elec among elecs, man among men, Without a doubt, he’s truly a godsend. If it’s academic or social skills you lack, just come to him, he got your back. Essay due, and you sound like a third-grader? Here he comes, doping up your paper. Got a date, and don’t know what to say? He got experience, to make it go your way. But more than his work as an advisor, it’s pretty difficult to find someone nicer than him. From tiring matches on the basketball court, to endless problem sets through the nights. He’s always present, unwavering support. With him at your side, things will be alright. Get ready, get pumped, for the start of O-Week, for here is the college life you seek. And who better to greet you at this place than a true legend, the advising ace. There’s just one more thing for me to make known. His identity: the Tyler Taldone!

Some people may describe me by the things that I’ve done: worked at laser tag, played Reggae, a classical music champion. But I am not only this, there is more to the package. I am a friend, a brother, a ginger, not so average. In all, I’d like to be a figure for someone to look up to in the future. A professor with a Pulitzer, Grammy and Grawmeyer. As you can see, I cannot simply be fit in a box, but at the moment, I’m here to make sure Jones rocks!

Juan Borbon is a senior studying Mechanical Engineering. Juan is your affiliate for O-Week, as well as Jones’ student maintenance representative (SMR), so you can count on him if you need help setting up your room. As SMR, Juan is responsible for helping you move things around your room, bunking your beds, or assisting with any other concerns you have with your room. As a lab assistant at the OEDK, he is also there to help you with your engineering design projects, or any 3-D printing issues you may be having. Seriously, ask him about his 3-D printing.

Despite being a Pre-Med Psychology major, Zoe Tao’s vocabulary consists mostly of grunting and struggling noises with the occasional musical note. But when she does try to say something intelligible you’ll want to hear it. Not only is she funny, but Zoe is also incredibly thoughtful, intelligent, humble, and will probably smother you with love. Think of her as a momma bear who’ll always take care of you, even when O-Week is over. Like with her other activities, such as DJing at KTRU (tune in at KTRU.org) and biking in preparation for Beer Bike, she’ll dedicate 100% of herself to being the best advisor possible. All in all, remember two things about Zoe: making strange guttural noises is the best way of communicating with her, and that she’ll always be there for you, regardless of what problem you may have.
